Hi, I’m Darren Cartledge-Price – a Hull photographer with a passion for telling love stories through natural, relaxed photography. For several years now, I’ve had the privilege of capturing weddings across Hull, Yorkshire, and beyond, always with the same excitement and gratitude for being part of such an important moment. My approach is all about blending in, keeping things calm and fun, and documenting your day in a way that feels true to you.

You might have noticed my name’s changed slightly from the one on the business. That’s because I launched the business as a Hull wedding photographer before I met my amazing wife, Susan—who now also works alongside me as my second shooter and creative partner. The original name stuck, and I’m not sure she’s forgiven me for that, but together we’ve built something really special: a friendly, down-to-earth team dedicated to capturing genuine moments with heart and humour.

Meet My Second Photographer

Susan is not only my second shooter—she’s also my wife, creative partner, and the behind-the-scenes engine that keeps everything running smoothly. She handles everything from timelines to logistics with quiet confidence, making sure the day flows seamlessly for our couples. We’ve worked side by side at weddings for several years, and her ability to capture the unscripted, fleeting moments is something truly special. While I’m often focused on the main action, Susan is quietly documenting the day as it naturally unfolds, spotting those spontaneous interactions and emotional details that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Her style leans towards candid and unobtrusive, blending seamlessly into your day to photograph real moments as they happen. That said, she’s not afraid to encourage a bit of fun—so don’t be surprised if she catches your guests pulling silly faces or dancing like no one’s watching. Having Susan on the team means our couples get not just more coverage, but a whole new perspective—genuine, relaxed, and full of heart.

Working as a husband-and-wife team brings a natural rhythm to the way we photograph weddings. We know each other’s strengths instinctively, and that means we’re always in sync—whether it’s capturing different angles during the ceremony or simply anticipating what the other needs before they say a word. Our couples often tell us how relaxed and reassured they feel knowing we’re there, not just as professionals, but as a team who genuinely love what we do (and each other). It’s that connection that helps us tell your story in the most personal and heartfelt way.

Where I Work

I’m based in Hull and absolutely love photographing weddings across this beautiful region – from the sweeping countryside of North Yorkshire, along -the coast of East Yorkshire and the vibrant cities of West and South Yorkshire. Whether your day is set in a rustic barn, a stately home or a stylish urban venue, I’ll be there to capture it all naturally and creatively.

Alongside Yorkshire, I also regularly cover weddings in Lincolnshire, Northumberland,County Durham and Nottinghamshire. I’m more than happy to travel for love stories worth telling, so if your venue’s a little further afield, just get in touch – chances are, I’ve either been there or would love the chance to visit!

It’s not all work!

When we’re not photographing weddings, we like to travel and explore new places, from Mull to Mexico – of course, we always take our cameras with us. I have a keen interest in wildlife, landscape, minimalist and macro photography. Meanwhile, Susan has a much more raw approach then myself, with a keen eye for candid and street photography. Our love for travel and the outdoors has allowed use to explore our creativity and capture some fantastic images over the years.

Photography & me.

Photography has been my hobby and passion for as long as I can remember. So, consequently, I have spent considerable time developing my skills, shadowing other photographers and working as a second shooter at weddings for a number of years. In 2022, I decided to start my own business, but I still regularly work alongside other photographers to keep up with the latest trends. This allows me to learn new techniques and work them into my skillset, therefore further refining my style.

I’m a full-time professional photographer based in Hull. I’m fully insured and experienced in capturing all kinds of moments, but weddings are where my heart truly lies. I plan every shoot with care, taking the time to understand each couple and what matters most to them. Your ideas are always welcome—some of my favourite shots have come from relaxed chats during pre-wedding catch-ups. I’m not here to take over; I’m here to listen and help tell your story, your way.
